Day 1

Arrival & Welcome

Arrive at your luxurious 4* or 5* resort overlooking the Aegean Sea. Enjoy a welcome dinner featuring local delicacies and wines. In the evening, attend our first seminar:

Learn about the history, beliefs, and traditions of Orthodox Christianity, setting the stage for the spiritual and cultural discoveries ahead.

Day 2

Journey into Monastic Life

Board speedboats to explore Mount Athos, a secluded monastic state rich in history and faith.

  • Monastery of Dohiariu: Nestled on the coast, this 10th-century gem is famous for its unique architecture and spiritual heritage.

  • Xenophon Monastery: Marvel at its serene courtyards and ancient frescoes.

  • Saint Pantelimon (RUSSICON): A majestic Russian monastery known for its striking domes and vast library of religious texts.

Return to the resort for dinner and leisure time.

Optional Excursion:

  • Kladi Villa Olive Oil Farm Tour: Visit one of Greece's premier olive oil farms. Enjoy a guided tasting session, learn about olive oil production, and savor a traditional farm-to-table lunch.

Evening Seminar: “History of the Orthodox Church: From the Life of Jesus to the East-West Schism (1054 CE)”


Trace Christianity’s roots and explore key historical events that shaped the Orthodox Church.

Day 4

Pilgrimage & Adventure

Today, venture deeper into the heart of Mount Athos:

  • Saint Paul Monastery: Known for its imposing presence and spiritual significance.

  • Saint Ana Skete: Hike or ride mules up 1,400 steps to this secluded retreat, offering breathtaking views and spiritual tranquility.

  • Simonopetra Monastery: Perched on a cliffside, this architectural marvel defies gravity.

  • Grigoriou Monastery: Visit if time permits, known for its serene ambiance and stunning coastal views.

Return to the resort for a well-deserved rest.

  • Thessaloniki City Tour: Discover the vibrant history of Greece's second-largest city. Visit iconic landmarks, enjoy a guided city tour, and savor a traditional Greek lunch.

Evening Seminar: “The Art of Icon Painting and Byzantine Aesthetics”
Delve into the mystical world of Byzantine art, exploring techniques used by master iconographers throughout history.

Day 6

Monastic Capital Tour

Travel by speedboat to Dafni, then continue by minibus to Careia, the administrative heart of Mount Athos.

  • Cutlumus Monastery: Admire its impressive library and religious relics.

  • Karacalu Monastery: A hidden spiritual haven with striking frescoes and serene courtyards.

  • Iviron Monastery: Famous for its treasured icons, including the miraculous "Portaitissa" icon.

Enjoy a traditional monastic lunch before returning to the resort by speedboat.

Day 8

Byzantine Grandeur

Discover some of the most iconic monasteries on Mount Athos:

  • Hilandar Monastery: A Serbian spiritual stronghold preserving centuries-old manuscripts and religious treasures.

  • Vatopedi Monastery: A Byzantine fortress-like monastery, considered one of Mount Athos' most significant spiritual centers.

  • Pantocrator Monastery: Known for its breathtaking frescoes and commanding sea views.

Conclude the day with a special Farewell Dinner, reflecting on the week’s unforgettable experiences.

Day 9

Departure

After breakfast, transfer to the airport with a renewed appreciation of the spiritual, cultural, and historical wonders of Mount Athos.
